Three stages. No surprises.
Here is exactly how a job with us runs, what happens at each stage and roughly how long it takes — including the part underneath that decides whether the finish is still flat in five years.

Usually within a week of calling
Free site visit & written quotation
We come out at a time that suits you and walk the driveway or the garden together. We take levels, look at where water currently goes, check access for a digger and a grab lorry, and dig a spade in to see what is actually under the surface — because clay, rubble and an old concrete slab are three very different jobs. Then you get a written quotation with the groundwork itemised rather than buried in a single figure, so you can compare it like-for-like against anyone else. It is free, and there is no obligation.

A few days to a few weeks
Dig out, base, drainage, install
Nearly all of the value is in this stage and almost none of it is visible afterwards. We dig out to the depth the surface and the loading need, cart the spoil away rather than burying it at the bottom of the garden, and build a compacted sub-base in layers. Falls are set so surface water runs away from the house, channel drains go in where the ground demands them, and edgings and kerbs are bedded and haunched in concrete. Only then does the resin, block paving, tarmac, porcelain or artificial grass go down. We keep the site orderly as we go and tell you in advance if anything we uncover changes the plan.

Before we leave site
Finished, swept and photographed
We do not call a job done until it is clean: offcuts and spoil away, joints sanded or seams checked, the drive and paths swept, everything left ready to use. We will run through whatever maintenance the surface we have laid actually needs — which for resin and tarmac is close to none. Then we photograph the finished job, because every picture on this website is one of ours and that is how it stays.
